General Objective

The dialogue session aims to enhance awareness about the importance of community mobilization to combat diseases and epidemics in Dhi Qar Governorate and to promote cooperation between civil society organizations, volunteer teams, and governmental entities to address health challenges.

Workshop Objective:
The workshop aims to train participants on the essential skills for coordinating and localizing humanitarian work in Dhi Qar Governorate and to enhance the capacities of local organizations to better respond to humanitarian needs.

Activities and Events:
  1. Opening Remarks: The session began with a welcoming speech by the President of No Borders Humanity Organization, who thanked all attendees and emphasized the importance of health awareness and community cooperation in combating diseases and epidemics.
  2. Presentation: Ms. Sabreen Al-Waeli provided a brief overview of No Borders Humanity Organization and the project’s objectives. She discussed the organization’s vision of achieving a healthy and safe community through promoting health awareness and collaborative efforts.
  3. Participant Contributions: Representatives of civil society organizations and volunteer teams shared their successful experiences and initiatives in the field of health awareness. Representatives of the Ministry of Health provided a comprehensive analysis of the current health situation and future plans to combat diseases.
  4. Discussion and Group Division: An open discussion was organized where ideas and opinions on the best ways to enhance health awareness in the community were exchanged. Participants were divided into four small groups, each responsible for discussing and presenting solutions for four major health problems faced by the governorate using effective advocacy strategies:
    • Group 1 (Peace): Discussed the issue of environmental pollution and proposed solutions such as promoting environmental cleanliness, proper waste disposal, and increasing afforestation.
    • Group 2 (Awareness Team No Borders): Addressed the issue of autism and suggested solutions including awareness campaigns about autism, improving support for affected families, and providing specialized centers for treatment and rehabilitation.
    • Group 3 (Community Police): Discussed the issue of beauty centers and recommended organizing inspection campaigns to ensure compliance with health standards and raising community awareness about choosing licensed beauty centers.
    • Group 4 (Hope): Focused on the issue of drugs and proposed initiatives to enhance awareness of the dangers of drugs, provide treatment and rehabilitation programs for addicts, and increase cooperation with the police to combat the spread of drugs.

Overall Objective of the Session:
Enhance collective work and collaboration among various stakeholders in the community to address health and environmental issues in Thi Qar Governorate through interactive dialogue sessions aimed at developing effective action plans and advocacy campaigns.

Activity Summary:
No Borders Humanity Organization, in partnership with the Global Health Council, organized an interactive dialogue session targeting a diverse group of participants from various professional and community backgrounds. Participants were divided into small discussion groups to delve into five key health issues affecting Thi Qar Governorate. Clear objectives were set for each problem, and action plans and advocacy campaigns were developed.

Final Recommendations:
  • Enhance coordination among all stakeholders involved in addressing health and environmental issues.
  • Provide financial and technical support to local organizations for implementing action plans and advocacy campaigns.
  • Continuous monitoring and evaluation to measure the impact of activities and achieve specified goals.

Conclusion:
The dialogue session was effective in enhancing cooperation and knowledge exchange among participants. There was agreement on the importance of following up on the recommendations to ensure the achievement of goals and improvement of health and environmental conditions in Thi Qar Governorate. Group photos were taken and health awareness brochures were distributed to participants.
