Project Name: Advocacy in Motion (AIM).
General Objective of the Session:
  • To enhance teamwork and cooperation among various community stakeholders to address health and environmental issues in Dhi Qar Governorate through interactive dialogue sessions aimed at developing effective action plans and advocacy campaigns.
Activity Summary: No Borders Humanity Organization, in partnership with the Global Health Council, organized an interactive dialogue session targeting a diverse group of participants from different professional and community backgrounds. Participants were divided into small discussion groups to delve into four major health issues facing Dhi Qar Governorate, identify clear objectives for each issue, and develop action plans and advocacy campaigns.

Activity Summary: No Borders Humanity, in partnership with the Global Health Council, organized an interactive dialogue session targeting a diverse group of participants from various professional and community sectors. Participants were divided into small discussion groups to delve into four major health issues affecting Dhi Qar Governorate, setting clear objectives for each issue and developing action plans and advocacy campaigns.

Dialogue Session Agenda:

  1. Opening and Welcome.
  2. Introduction to Health Issues in Dhi Qar Governorate (Diseases – Epidemics – Disease Causes).
  3. Importance of Health Awareness and How to Develop Mechanisms for Enhancing Local Health Awareness in Dhi Qar.
  4. Dividing Participants into Discussion Groups.
  5. Discussion of Health Issues within Groups.
  6. Developing Action Plans and Advocacy Campaigns.
  7. Presentation of Group Results.
  8. Final Recommendations.
  9. Closing of the Session.

Outcomes:

  • Development of four action plans and advocacy campaigns for each discussed health issue.
  • Setting general and SMART objectives for each campaign.
  • Deeper understanding of the causes and effects of each health issue.
  • Practical recommendations for target groups and activities to be implemented.

Final Recommendations:

  1. Enhance coordination among all relevant parties to address health and environmental issues.
  2. Provide financial and technical support to local organizations for implementing action plans and advocacy campaigns.
  3. Continuous monitoring and evaluation to measure the impact of activities and achieve set objectives.

Conclusion: The dialogue session was effective in fostering cooperation and knowledge exchange among participants. It was agreed upon the importance of following up on implementing recommendations to ensure achieving the objectives and improving the health and environmental conditions in Dhi Qar Governorate. Group photos were taken, and health awareness brochures and booklets were distributed to participants.
